Regular  membership  qualifications: 

Persons who have retired or left in good standing from the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and current employees of the USMS. Only regular members may vote on Association matters and hold an elected office with the Association.

Associate  membership  qualifications:

USMS fugitive task force officers augmenting USMS task forces as Special Deputy U.S. Marshals; USMS contractors for over one year. The proposed member must be nominated by at least two members and voted in by voice vote of those attending our annual Association conference. On a case by case basis, an association member may nominate a non-law enforcement person that has demonstrated a continued commitment to the USMS and/or USMSA. That person must be nominated by at least two Association members and voted in by voice vote by those members in attendance at our annual USMSA conference. The person must be in good standing and have no negative background issues that would bring disrepute to the Association. The Associate member may attend and participate in USMSA conferences, conventions and activities. Associate members may not vote or hold an elected office with the Association.

Honorary  membership qualifications:

For others that are deemed to be honorary members by the executive committee due to their station in life, contributions to the United States or other notable achievements affecting the United States Marshals Service and/or The United States Marshals Service Association. Persons nominated for honorary membership may be submitted by the general membership or by anyone within the United States Marshals Service.

Platinum membership qualifications:

Persons who are widows/widowers or surviving partners of members of the Association (members will designate their surviving partner). These individuals will remain members of the USMSA for life with no dues requirement. This membership will include the right to vote on the convention locations.
